A Few Simple Tips to Build Running Strength, Speed and Durability Without Overtraining

🍁 Fall is here and you know what that means – fall races! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a new runner looking to tackle your first race, we’ve got you covered with expert tips and training plans to help you crush those autumn miles! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

🌟 First things first, setting realistic goals is key. Think about what you want to achieve this fall and start working towards it. Maybe it’s beating your personal best or conquering a longer distance – whatever it may be, make sure it’s something that excites and motivates you! 💪

🗓 Next up, creating a training plan that works for you. Our team of experienced runners have crafted training plans that cater to all levels and abilities. From complete beginners to marathon veterans, we’ve got a plan that will challenge and push you towards your race day success! 📅

😉 A couple of simple things you can add to your training that will make a huge difference in running performance are wickets for runners (small hurdles, evenly spaced) and 100m fast strides. Just by incorporating wickets and 100m strides at the beginning and end of your runs, you will build strength, endurance and address form issues without over training. Just like anything else, running form is about muscle memory. When we learn how to feel the correct form, it will become easier and easier to duplicate. When we develop correct form, we will avoid most injuries.

🏋️ Strength and cross-training should also be a part of your training routine. Building overall body strength and incorporating different exercises can improve running performance and reduce the risk of injury. Plus, it adds variety to your workouts and keeps things interesting! 🏋️‍♀️

🍽 Proper nutrition and hydration are essential for keeping your body fueled and performing at its best. Make sure you’re eating a balanced diet that provides the necessary nutrients to support your training. And don’t forget to hydrate before, during, and after your runs – it’s crucial for optimal performance! 🥦💦

🎉 Last but not least, don’t forget to enjoy the journey! Fall races are a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself, connect with fellow runners, and soak in the beautiful autumn scenery. Embrace the process, celebrate your progress, and let the adrenaline of race day fuel you towards the finish line! 🍂
